23 Times Around the Sun!

Yesterday was my 23rd birthday! Kurt took me out to brunch at a cafe I'd been eyeing for several months and then we lazed around planning our Europe road trip and eating chocolate peanut butter cake the rest of the day. It was lovely.

It's weird to think it was just 3 years ago that I spent my 20th birthday in Argentina. I remember sitting up in the Andes Mountains and thinking and praying about my future. I certainly didn't imagine I'd move to Los Angeles, get married, move to England and travel Europe in the three years following. Thinking on this I can't help but feel so overwhelmingly blessed. Life really is an adventure and God continues to provide my every need (and so much more).

We leave for our massive Europe trip on Tuesday, what better birthday gift could I ask for? Any tips for must sees/dos/eats? We'll be making stops in Spain, Southern France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Czech, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. I hope to blog a couple times along the way too. :-)

  1. Happy Birthday!!! Sounds like you're going to have a blast with your belated bday present : ) Amazing how quickly things can change from year to year and how no matter how much we plan, God always has something better up his sleeve : )

  2. It does sound like a lot has happened in the last three years! Happy birthday! Enjoy your roadtrip...I've only been to Paris and Cyprus, so I can't make suggestions, but I can sure be jealous of all the great places you'll be going to! :)

  3. I am so excited for you, Michaela!!! It's going to be so much fun! I hope you have a wonderful trip with no stress...that any mishaps are laughed at....that you are safe...and that you thoroughly enjoy everything you do and see!

I'm sure you'll be trying out different beers in Germany. I'm not a big beer fan, but I liked the Raddler (sp?)...half beer, half lemondade! Also, don't miss the German bakeries.

And Weiner Schnitzel in Austria!!! And Gelato, of course.

    Love you.
